EMPLOYERS LIABILITY
(Standard Limit £10,000,000) Provides cover for death and bodily injury to employees arising out of their work whilst engaged in their business activities.
PUBLIC LIABILITY
Provides cover for the insured’s legal liability in the event of bodily injury to any third party person and or damage to third party property arising out of the operations of the business and occurring within the territorial limits up to the limit as highlighted in a policy schedule.
PRODUCTS LIABILITY
Provides cover in the event of accidental bodily damage to any person and damage to property occurring and caused by a product supplied by the insured. The limit is shown in a schedule and usually mirrors the Public Liability one.
Professional Insurance
Provides cover for anyone who supplies a professional service and could have claims brought against them by a client
Sole traders, freelancers and contractors
Limited companies and limited liability partnerships
Anyone who provides expertise, skills or advice to clients
Cover is needed in cases of:
Negligence – being careless in your work, such as giving bad advice or making a mistake
Infringement of intellectual property rights – for example re-using content from a website without permission
Defamation – making false or damaging claims about a person or organisation
Breach of confidence – sharing confidential or commercially sensitive information without consent
